Professor Bill Bicknell was my global health policy professor while at BUSPH, and his words still echo in my head every day as a public health practitioner: “Public health is the science and art of deciding who dies when and with what degree of misery.” He made us all think, feel, and live our responsibility to the people we hope to serve.

Bill passed away at his home last night, but is fondly remembered by the many people whose lives he touched. May he rest in peace.
