I am beyond delighted today to be featured on the Take Flight project, the brainchild of Vivek Mayasandra, a self-described student of the world and who gets obsessed with global culture, social good, airlines, languages and other stuff.
The Take Flight Project posts new stories every Tuesday and Thursday about people and their inspirational trips around the US and around the world. Each travel adventure seems to take the person not just to a new place, but to a new phase in their life, a new project, or a new level of understanding about something important & essential to him or her.
You can read my story of my first trip to Kenya (well, to Africa!) back in the summer of 2009, and how it changed my life & give me something immensely rewarding to do with my outside-of-work time once I arrived in DC. I’d also encourage you to check out the other stories & give Vivek a follow on twitter. He’s a wonderful curator of interesting & inspiring things.
